Founded with the blessings of Ma inaugurated by Smt. Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, this Hospital with the principal object of rendering service to the suffering humanity irrespective of any distinctions what soever, has almost completed about 40 years of its existence. This is one of the best of its kind in this part of the country.
It attends to about 60,000 patients per annum in its various out - patient departments free of cost covering Medical, Gynae, Surgical, Cardiology, Urology, Ophthalmic, ENT, Pediatrics, Neurology, Dental Orthopedics, X- ray, Skin, Ayurvedic and also Physio Therapy. In its indoor wards, about 2000 patient are also treated per annum for various ailments. It has special Cardiac Unit, ICU and modern operation theatres.
Freed Medical Aid Programme - Special surgical camps are organized every year in the hospital and attended by senior surgeons. Also, free eye camps are regularly organized and free eye operations are done and spectacle given to the poor. Special urology camps and polio eradications programmes are also organized regularly. There is also "Ganga Ambulance Seva and Rural Health Programme" through which series of free medical camps are organized at different places of Varanasi and art side the district in Riverine area for the benefit of the poor and needy.
The Varanasi Region Thalassemia Welfare Society has been running the center in our Hospital to prevent spread of this dreadful disease among the children. |
